Gone but not forgotten - Kath Popow

Kath was one of the mainstay backup players in the Junction/New Junction/William Street Club/White Lion team that played in the Five Towns Quiz League from day one of the league up to their final departure as reigning Division Two Champions at the end of 2009-10.  Kath joined the Junction team in 1998 and although her main talent lay in reading the questions, she could always be called upon to make an appearance and the team up to four players when required and over the years actually managed to accrue 35 appearances over the nine seasons in which she made an appearance, making a full 16 of those in 2001-02.  Thus Kath was one of those types of players and readers that the quiz league thrives upon and who keep our social organisation going.  She worked for many years in the Junction and was one of Bryan Milner's closest accolytes and confidants.
