Tony Blake - Tony was another long-time Five Towns' Quiz Leaguer, having a 20 year association with the league from 1996
to 2016. He was a member of the team that at times has been at the Cartners' Arm, the Hope & Anchor and the
Railway in Pontefract. Tony did have about four years off from quizzing in the middle of the twenty year period when
he wasn't working but always seemed to gravitate back to the game he loved. His ironic sense of humour was legendary
and I always remember the time when it was his turn to appear in a Finals' Night programme and he supplied me with a photograph
with him wearing a beanie hat that looked just exactly like the Pal Whitehouse "Int' milk brilliant" advert
that it just had to be remarked upon, which amused him. Tony accumulated 185 Five Towns' Quiz League appearances, which puts him in the upper
echelon of appearance-makers and that, along with like I say, his sense of humour etc, makes him fondly remembered and missed
by the family of the Five Towns' Quiz League and certainly his team. Tony Blake - died 2016.
